About the Role
This van driver position is a part time position with AM & PM routes.
The driver is responsible for the safe transport of individuals from their home to facility-based services and back home. In addition, there may be the transportation of clients to meet other needs. Drivers are responsible for the cleanliness and general maintenance oversight of the vehicle assigned.
In addition, the van driver must be able to
Complete all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the agency Code of Ethics.
Maintain compliance to governing authorities including the Bureau of Quality Improvement in Services, Rule IAC 460, Department of Labor, Indiana Department of Transportation, and the agency Quality Management System.
Maintain positive relations and timely communication with agency staff.
Represents New Horizons’ mission and values when interacting with families.
Documents passenger health or other concerns on the appropriate form to the Facility Director
Provide proper notification in the event of illness or other emergencies to allow coverage for the assigned route.
Maintain compliance with program requirements, including training and route schedules.
Complete preventative maintenance, safety checks, and pre-trip checks as identified and assigned.
Report mechanical and safety concerns immediately to the facility director.
Complete trip attendance and other records on a timely basis.
Other duties related to the mission of the agency and administrative needs as assigned.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
